It’s a Piaggio Porter - a license-built rebadge of the Daihatsu Hijet k
ei van (with different front fascia from the Daihatsu)! :D
They have upgraded 1.2L or 1.3L gas or diesel engines compared to the 660cc from the Hijet though AFAIK!

Very practical for Italy’s narrow city streets.
Big trucks are okay for getting stuff from city to city but once your there, small vans and trucks are the king.

I liked those trash cans a lot. They look little, but are actually big dumpsters that get lifted out of the ground to dump into the trucks :
Could definitely use them in NYC instead of having great piles of trash bags everywhere.

Yes, I’ve seen a few of those. They run the city center routes apparently.
I'm convinced this city contains 3/4 of the world's buses.
